Bite into these crunchy, vegetarian-friendly breaded mushrooms from Maebells! This cute appetizer idea will satisfy your craving for savory, crispy stuff. You can make and freeze them ahead of time, and take them out to thaw when you’re ready to bake.
Crispy Breaded Mushroom Bites
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup plain bread crumbs
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 (8-ounce) package of whole mushrooms
- 1/2 tablespoon butter
- 1/4 teaspoon minced fresh garlic
Directions
Preheat oven to 400°F. Grease baking sheet and set aside.
Grab three small bowls, and put the flour, beaten egg and bread crumbs separately in each bowl. In the bread crumb bowl, add Italian seasoning and garlic salt and stir.
Rinse mushrooms off, and wipe clean with a paper towel. Roll or dip each mushroom in the flour, then in the egg, then in the bread crumbs. Place mushrooms on a greased baking sheet.
Melt butter, and mix with garlic; lightly brush each mushroom with a little garlic butter.
Bake for 13–15 minutes until golden.
